The 2000 Syrah is oaky, medium-bodied, blackberry-scented and flavored, and solidly-knit. Its barrique treatment is evident, and it will not make tasters forget the great Syrahs from France's Rhone Valley or California, but it is a pretty, measured effort that will provide pleasure over the next 6-8 years.
