The 2006 Syrah is a big, spicy wine bursting with dark fruit, earthiness, French oak and herbs. A kick of blueberry jam on the close adds lingering notes of sweetness to the finish. The Syrah possesses notable harmony in a generous, enveloping style. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. This is one of the better sets of wines I can remember tasting from Planeta.
