The 2002 Costera IGT is a blend of 90% Cannonau (believed to be related to Grenache) and the rest Carignan and Bovale Sardo. Aged in cement vats, it offers a dense ruby/purple color followed by a big, spicy, earthy, red and black fruit-scented bouquet. Medium-bodied, with fine ripeness, abundant pepper, and sweet kirsch-like notes intermixed with notions of black currants as well as licorice, it will drink well for 2-3 years.A Leonardo Locascio Selection, Winebow, Hohokus, NJ; tel.
