This winery appears to have the right ideas about winemaking and marketing, but the results have been inconsistent. Rex Hill has turned out a delicious 1991 Pinot Gris that displays a smoky, buttery nose, rich, fresh, dry, fruity flavors, medium body, and a tasty, crisp finish. It is ideal for consuming over the next year. Along with Eyrie's and Ponzi's Pinot Gris, it is the best I tasted from the 1991 vintage.
