This wine was backward and tightly-knit when I tasted it. Perhaps it is Majella's winemaking style, but this deep ruby/purple-colored, full-bodied wine needed coaxing in order to reveal some spice and sweet black fruits in its nose. In the mouth, it cuts an expansive, medium to full-bodied feel, but the flavors are restrained, tightly-knit, and still bound by the wine's oak, tannin, and acidity. Give this Shiraz 2-3 years of cellaring; it should keep for 12-15. The Lynn brothers, who for years supplied grapes to some of the top cuvees of Winn and John Ridoch, have begun to estate bottle their production. This is a well-made, tightly-knit wine that was extremely youthful and unevolved when I tasted it. It possesses the potential to improve in the bottle, so my rating may turn out conservative
