Roger Sabon's two 1993s (I did not taste any 1994s) are very successful wines. The 1993 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige is more tannic and concentrated than the Cuvee Reservee, with a more saturated ruby/purple color and gobs of rich fruit in its aromatics. Full-bodied, expansive, and opulent, this is a large-scaled, concentrated Chateauneuf du Pape with chewy, intense fruit that conceals what appears to be light to moderate tannin.
