The 2009 Zinfandel Stagecoach Vineyard is striking. It is one of the most primary, unevolved wines in this lineup. I especially like the vibrancy and purity of the dark fruit. With time in the glass sweet scents of licorice, tobacco and spices appear, but this remains a very young wine in need of cellaring, at least for readers who want to enjoy the wine at its finest. That said, it is fairly spectacular today. A deep, penetrating finish leaves a lasting impression. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. This lineup from Biale is full of fabulous wines.
