Produced from a small, 60-year-old parcel wedged between those of the Domaines Georges de Vogue and Jacques-Frederic Muggier, the 2003 Musigny was destemmed by hand, “cluster by cluster, berry by berry,” according to Marchand. It vaunts a fabulous nose of black cherries, violets, blackberries, and spices. Medium to full-bodied, this silky-textured wine is pure, feminine, and reveals outstanding depth as well as length. Solidly structured and replete with copious tannin, it will require patience. Projected maturity: 2010-2020+.
