The deep ruby/purple-hued 2001 Cote Rotie Les Rochains sees 100% new oak aging. It exhibits more size, volume, depth, and texture than the 2000. Aromas of minerals, licorice, black raspberries, blackberries, compost, licorice, and spring flowers are followed by a medium-bodied, chewy, persistent Cote Rotie. It should drink well for 11-12 years. This moderately sized domaine (approximately 17 acres) has come on strong lately thanks to the talented Christophe Bonnefond.Importer: A Christopher Cannan Selection, various American importers including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel.
