The 2000 Chardonnay Clone 76 "Inox." (Inox is the French word for "stainless steel.") is a breakthrough effort, and a wine that more California wineries should be producing. The wine is 100% tank-fermented and aged. This ripe Chardonnay is reminiscent of some of Australia's blockbuster fruit bombs, yet there is undeniable minerality, focus, and precision to this big, full-bodied (15.1% alcohol) 2000.
