The 2003 Vigna Garrone is an opaque beauty bursting with the essence of dark cherries, scorched earth, licorice, smoke and game. It comes across as slightly wilder in its expression than the 2004 yet this big, full-bodied, generous wine will provide highly pleasurable drinking over the next decade. The Vigna Garrone is a blend of 80% Gaglioppo, 10% Nerello Capuccio, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which spent 14 months in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2018.Importer: Jan d’Amore Wines, Brooklyn, NY; tel. (917) 257-7994
