Potentially outstanding with some bottle age, the dark ruby-colored Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru displays fresh, lively cherries aromatically and a delicious, chewy, velvety, medium-to-full-bodied personality packed with red and black currants, stones and a touch of earthiness. It will be at its best between 2001-2008. This unfined, unfiltered and hand-bottled offering is crafted with only minimal doses of sulfur. It is a first rate wine. This was the first time I tasted anything from Bizot so I was ecstatic to see the high level of quality achieved by this small estate. This note is the results of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29.A Patrick Lesec Selection (Paris Fax: 011-33-1-42-84-38-22).
