Produced from vines located in the Les Treux sector of Echezeaux (on the southern end of this large grand cru), this wine is medium-to-dark ruby/purple-colored and displays enthrallingly refined blackberry, cherry, and violet aromas. This broad, masculine, silky-textured, and medium-to-full-bodied offering is filled with red cherries, raspberries, and strawberries laced with new oak flavors. Its firm and long finish is a little warm and has dryish, oaky tannins. Cellaring may or may not resolve this problem as this wine has copious quantities of dense fruit. Readers should try it in 2003 and re-evaluate its ageworthiness at that time.Jean-Yves Bizot is a rising star.A Patrick Lesec Selection (Paris Fax # 011-33-1-42-84-38-22), various American importers.
