The 2002 Fiano d’Avellino Campanaro, a selection of the best Fiano grapes, is large and complex on the nose with its weighty mineral-tropical aromas. The palate, with a late-harvest richness and dimension, offers pineapple, mango, passion fruit, and butterscotch in a long, sustained, and rich style. This is a wine which has gained greatly in recent years by shedding the almost treacly sweetness which used to characterize it. Very characterful, it should drink well for another two or three years.
