The 2004 Glorioso Gran Reserva spent 24 months in French oak. Dark ruby red in color, it gives up an expressive nose of background oak, Asian spices, lavender, black cherry, and blackberry. On the palate it has excellent grip and concentration (characteristic of this outstanding Rioja vintage), complex flavors, a silky texture, and a lengthy, seamless finish. It may well evolve for 2-3 years and promises to drink well for a decade.
Bodegas Palacio makes some wine (all 100% Tempranillo) under the Glorioso label.
