The 2011 Pinot Noir Kiana comes from two Dijon clones (777 and 114) that is matured in 40% new oak for 14 months. It has a ripe and quite candied bouquet with strawberry pastilles and touches of tomato leaf, just a hint of dark chocolate in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, tart red cherry fruit, quite pretty, if just missing substance toward the finish. Enjoy this over the next 2 or 3 years.
