The 2009 Terrer d’Aubert is a pure Cabernet Sauvignon from fossil-rich soils. It has a lifted, well-defined nose of blackberry, raspberry, crushed stone and brine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, with a firm structure that frames crisp, cedar-infused black fruit and a slightly foursquare, reserved finish. This is an expressive Cabernet Sauvignon for drinking over 3-5 years.
Vinyes del Terrer consists of nine parcels scattered over 7 hectares in the D.O. of Tarragona, situated 2 kilometers from the sea and so benefitting from regulating sea breezes. The wines are aged for 14 months in Allier oak barrels, of which 40% are new (although personally I do not think the wines need that much).
