Comando G produces such a small quantity of white that the bottles are unicorns. This is the case with the 2014 El Tamboril, the third vintage of this Garnacha Blanca, which is a rarity, as the most planted white grape in the zone is Albillo. The vines are planted at some 1,230 meters altitude on a north-facing, cool vineyard. This wine is almost a miracle, because it had all the perfect conditions to lose all the grapes, but the good drainage and a lot of luck resulted in more grapes than any previous vintage! It's unbelievably young, with 12.5% alcohol and the pollen, beeswax and dried flowers intermixed with incredible minerality and a super austere, sharp and mineral palate with the texture of a cool climate Riesling on granite steroids. The nose reminded me of something from Hermitage, and the palate is closer to the Mosel. A unique wine. 512 bottles were filled in June 2016, with the single vineyard reds.
