Already iconic in only its second vintage, the white 2013 El Tamboril lost most of its fruit to snow, frost and hail in 2013. That's what happens with the most extreme vineyards like this one, the highest from Commando G, at some 1,230 meters altitude and north-facing, the cooler orientation. So they only harvested some 200 kilos of grapes and made a little bit of wine that was not enough to fill even the smallest barrel, so it was pressed with a toy press and the juice was put to ferment and age in glass demijohns, where it remained until June 2015 when it was bottled. The wine developed some yeast veil akin to the Vin Jaune from the Jura. The nose shows some of that mushroomy, morel and curry aromas, and the palate has a fine texture, with some tannin (it was not kept with the skins). Only 118 bottles were filled from two glass demijohns. This is a virtual one if there is one.
