It is always a great bargain and the 2007 Les Amis de la Bouissiere is little short of sensational. Dark chocolate, black cherry, roasted meats, and toasted, salted pecans are dominant throughout this rich red, which retains a savory, saline brightness in its long finish that consistently sends you back for the next sip. Thierry Faravel has been making this wine for close to a decade as an outlet for fruit from young Merlot vines, which he blends with Grenache and Syrah (here each around 30%).
