While I suspect it is nearing the end of its drinking plateau, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee les Origines continues to deliver the goods. Dense, rich and loaded with raspberry fruit, this is full-bodied, silky and long, a terrific effort from a challenging vintage.

Lush, with dark fig and blackberry fruit layered with hoisin sauce, smoldering charcoal and pastis notes. Offers a toasty edge on the finish, with a ganache accent chiming in, all carried by finely beaded acidity.
