The 2009 Terra d’Uro Seleccion is blessed with a seductive, quite opulent bouquet of mulberry, raspberry and dark plum infused with incense and Provencal herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with a grainy, edgy entry. It has a Saint Emilion-like character with a core of sweet, spicy red fruit and a generous, structured finish that is compact and I suspect will offer more persistency with bottle age or decanting of 1-2 hours. This is another well-crafted Toro red from Terra d’Uro. Drink 2015-2024.
Hacienda Terra d’Uro offers exceptionally fine Toro wines that are well worth seeking out, although I discerned very little difference in quality between the Terra d’Uro Seleccion and the “Uro,” which is triple the price.
