This is clearly a superlative source for terrific red wines at bargain prices. Trentadue's 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon conjures up memories of old style California Cabernets that were heavily extracted, chunky, and coarse, but wow, what fruit and intensity. While this wine will never win any awards for finesse or elegance, I would not be surprised to see it embarrass many of its more prestigious siblings in a blind tasting in ten or so years. Rich, with a nose of black fruits, smoke, and herbs, this full-bodied wine displays soft tannins, and an unmistakable voluptuous, intense style. It should be apparent that this winery is making a bevy of terrific red wines at bargain basement prices. Their wines all sell for between $6-$12 a bottle. Given their quality/price rapport, these wines will not linger on retailers' shelves.
