One of my early summer hopes is that readers will taste some of the better dry roses. Undoubtedly, a rose is a marvelous accompaniment to the lighter foods served during the summer's heat and humidity. The 1995 Rose is a totally dry, fresh, strawberry-scented wine with excellent fruit, fine texture and length, and a zesty finish. It is made from bleeding off tanks of Cinsault, Grenache, and Syrah in order to concentrate the estate's red wine. Drink it over the next 6-8 months. An excellent value.Robert Kacher: 2015 Vine Street NE, Washington, DC 20018; tel. (202) 832-9083, fax (202) 529-2579
