One of the few great 1996 Brunellos I have tasted, Salvioni's opaque garnet-colored offering reveals a fabulous nose of cedar, soy, incense, black and red fruits, and minerals. The complex perfume is followed by a layered, nuanced, medium to full-bodied wine with outstanding ripeness, abundant glycerin, and superb extract as well as purity.
