The 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape starts off with scents of struck match and seems a bit tight and tannic in the mouth. Give it some time in a decanter and you'll see this full-bodied, tannic wine develop more generosity and deliver notes of red raspberries, salted licorice and a touch of cocoa powder on the finish. It's a blend of 70% Grenache and 10% each Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah, all matured in concrete.
