The 2008 Barbaresco Pajore reveals a touch more depth and persistence as it covers the palate with fruit. This is relatively small-scaled Barbaresco very much in the house style. Subtle spice, mineral, tobacco notes add complexity on the precise, crystalline finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
Rizzi is a beautiful property high in the hills of Treiso. While I tend to feel the estate could be doing more with their vineyards, it is hard to argue with the generally favorable pricing of these wines. These are generally forward Barbareschi that can be enjoyed with a minimum of cellaring.
