The 600 cases of 1998 Chardonnay La Carriere tips the scales at a hefty 14.1% alcohol. Made from a vineyard planted on a steep, rocky hillside, it exhibits aromas of white peaches, honey, pears, subtle new oak, and citrus. Full-bodied and complex, with good underlying acidity, this wine is reminiscent of a Burgundian Corton-Charlemagne. It should drink well for 5-6 years. Tel. (707) 942-4459; Fax (707) 942-0209
