Henri Bonneau releases his lightest Chateauneuf du Pape cuvee under the name Marie Beurrier. Its power and strength overwhelm most other Chateauneuf du Papes. The 1989 reveals a dark plummy color, a huge sweet nose reminiscent of brandy-soaked fruitcake, opulent, full-bodied flavors that exhibit excellent concentration, and a powerful, heady, intensely spicy finish. In spite of its size, this broad-shouldered wine can be drunk now or held for 5-10 years. Importer: Wines of France - an Alain Junguenet Selection, Mountainside, NJ.
