The 2008 Pomino Rosso is a delicate, somewhat ethereal Pinot-like offering laced with dried cherries, flowers, cinnamon and earthiness. A feminine, soft red, the Pomino Rosso is best enjoyed over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013. This is a strong set of new releases from the Frescobaldi family, yet as is often the case, I am left thinking these properties have yet to maximize their full potential.
