The 2003 Barolo Arione is the estate’s first vintage from this vineyard, which is located in Serralunga, a part of the zone that offers a distinctly different set of aromas and flavors than the Barolos of La Morra. As is to be expected the Arione packs a powerful punch, with plenty of ripe fruit and mineral, iron, licorice and tar notes that are typical of Serralunga. The tannins are well-integrated, yet this remains an authoritative Barolo that is still holding back much of its potential. It is a great debut from Enzo Boglietti. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018.
