The excellent 2003 VDP d’Oc Cuvee Tradition (a blend of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne) reveals an Alsace-like gout du petrol character along with loads of licorice, flower, honeysuckle, and fruit notes. It possesses a fine texture, medium to full body, and a heady finish. Aged 100% in tank, this 2003 needs to be consumed over the next 1-2 years. Mas Carlot is situated in the Costieres de Nimes (they use the VDP d’Oc designation because they are not entitled to use the appellation designation when the grape varietals are listed on the label). The value and high quality of their offerings are undeniable.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
