This medium-to-dark ruby-colored wine reveals perfumed violet, black fruit, and stone aromatics. The day of my tasting, this stunning wine's character was in a broodingly backward state. It is concentrated, masculine, broad, complex, medium-to-full-bodied and has a blueberry, violet, and stone-packed core that lingers in the tannic yet suave finish. It should be at its peak between 2003-2008.
I believe 1996 will be remembered at Maison Louis Jadot as particularly successful in Chambolle-Musigny. This offering was excellent to outstanding.
