The 2006 Cabernet contains 5% Petit Verdot and was aged for 16 months in a mix of new and used French oak. A glass-coating purple color, it has an expressive perfume of toasty oak, pencil lead, black currant, and blackberry. Layered, dense, and ripe, it has enough stuffing to blossom for another 3-4 years. This lengthy effort should be at its best from 2011 to 2021. The Kaesler family, of Silesian origin, emigrated to the Barossa in the 1840s. The winemaking is in the hands of Reid Bosward and Stephen Dew.Importer: Ben Hammerschlag, Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel. (206) 923-1376
