The 2007 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico (50-50 Trebbiano and Malvasia) is a gorgeous wine with a level of aromatic intensity that is really quite a treat for Vin Santo enthusiasts. Caramel, chestnut honey, toasted almond, candied fruit and vanilla all play into the mix. It is enormously luscious and long with a point of rum or aged brandy at the very back. Its texture is rich and soothing in the most magnificent and elegant way.

Medium-weight and semisweet, offering walnut, brown butter and molasses notes. The acidity and tannins keep this focused on the finish, which reveals a lingering rancio edge.
