A certified organic dessert wine, the 2012 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico (in a 375-milliliter bottle) shows a dark amber color and thick viscosity. The bouquet is slow to open, but that's not saying much considering how big the aromas ultimately become. You get caramel, dried fig, apricot, honey and cooked sugar. This wine is nuanced with musky tones of forest floor and wild mushroom. Its thickness is driven forward by a 15% alcohol content.

A thickly textured sweet white, exuding caramel, brown butter, vanilla, orange peel and walnut flavors. Intense and slightly cloying on the finish, yet concentrated. Trebbiano and Malvasia.
