The 2010 El Tallar Seleccion comes from 50- to 70-year-old vines from poor calcareous soils in Milagros and is raised in new Hungarian barrels and second year Allier. It has a crisp well-defined bouquet with great tension and poise. There is a tangible minerality here, great symmetry and it builds to a very pure blackberry, mineral-rich, structured finish that is surprisingly masculine and very long. Excellent. Drink 2013-2020+. Juan Ayuso is the winemaker at Bodegas La Milagrosa and he oversees a very commendable range, wines that are suffused with freshness, fine tannins and verve. As far as I am aware, only the excellent El Tallar is brought into the United States, but I hope more will follow.Importer: Majuelas de Espana; www.majuelas.com - Milcampos is distributed by Frontier Wine Imports, Dover, NJ; tel.
