Achilli Boroli's 2016 Barolo Cerequio wraps over the palate with dark richness and medium-weight concentration. This opulent wine opens to rich fruit aromas with lots of spicy definition, revealing toasted hazelnut and spice obtained with oak aging. You also get a pretty hint of truffle-infused soil. These wines from Boroli carry a heavier oak signature that gives them a rich, fleshed out personality. This Cerequio opens nicely (as I discovered) with a double decant, but it is also built for the long haul.
