The 2014 Dolcetto d'Alba was a difficult wine to make because heavy rainfall and low temperatures had a negative impact on the early-ripeneing Dolcetto grape. Maceration times were reduced to four days because the grape skins were so thin. Ultimately, the wine reaches good balance because bottling was put off by one month to give it more time to settle. In fact, this wine had been bottled just days before I tasted it.
