Although slightly expensive, the 1996 Crianza is an exceptional wine value. The dark ruby color is followed by copious quantities of sweet, spicy oak along with candied black cherries and dried herbs. Noteworthy, complex lead pencil notes also make an appearance. This cuvee (6,000 cases imported) possesses good fruit, medium body, and an elegant yet mouth-filling style with no hard edges.
