The 2013 Marsannay l’Ancestral has a seductive floral bouquet with dried rose petals infusing the small dark cherries and blackcurrant fruit. There is also just a hint of orange rind developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm grip on the entry, fine acidity and structure, grainy in texture with a long masculine finish. This will need three or four years in bottle, but it will certainly be worth the wait.
