Made from 100% Marsanne, the 1995 Les Meysonniers (lot 7051) exhibits a stony character, attractive orange-blossom scents, good elegance, and a crisp, dry, refreshing finish. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. Last tasted 6/96. Most of what the Chapoutier firm produces from Crozes-Hermitage is from purchased grapes. Chapoutier's red and white Les Meysonniers have always been slightly superior to the Petite Ruche cuvees, which appear to be Chapoutier's concession to purchasers who want an inexpensive Crozes-Hermitage.
