The 2005 Sagemoor Vineyard Reserve is sourced from a vineyard planted in 1972, one of the oldest in Washington. Purple-colored, it offers a fragrant bouquet with a hint of eucalyptus as well as black currant and blackberry. It is smooth-textured, ripe, and well-balanced, with enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years. It will be at its best from 2012 to 2020.
Ron Coleman’s Tamarack Cellars produces a portfolio of easygoing, fairly priced wines that can best be described as middle of the road. They will not excite nor will they disappoint. The two Reserve wines are a different story, outstanding wines as well as fairly priced.
