Tasted as a barrel sample, the 2013 Columbia Valley Syrah comes mostly from Walla Walla (Les Collines and The Rocks Vineyards), saw 30% whole clusters during fermentation and was aged 18 months mostly neutral barrels. It offers terrific aromatics of blackberries, currants, leafy herbs and pepper, full-bodied richness, a stacked mid-palate and enough depth and purity to evolve for 10-15 years.
