A new producer for me, this 100% Grenache (100-year-old vines planted in pure sandy soils) was aged in 80% in cement tanks and 20% in demi-muids. Made by proprietor Sebastian Cuscusa and consulting oenologist Philippe Cambie, it is an elegant, light ruby-colored wine revealing the pretty, quintessential kirsch side of Chateauneuf du Pape. Although it lacks volume and intensity in the mouth, it is a silky, seductive red to enjoy over the next 5-6 years. (Not yet released)Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; tel.
