The 2003 Perfil de Mibal, aged 16 months in new French oak, is less saturated in color but more perfumed. It delivers an array of smoke, toast, espresso roast, vanilla, wild blueberry and blackberry liqueur aromas that are very enticing. This is followed by a richly fruity, sumptuous, full-bodied wine that is remarkably harmonious. Already beginning to drink well but with enough structure for extended bottle aging, this splendid effort should provide great pleasure through 2025.
A true “garage” Bodegas (the winery is in a garage in the town of Roa), these small production cuvees of 100% Tempranillo are uniformly outstanding.
