Tasted blind at Farr Vintners Kumeu/White Burgundy tasting. The 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny from Etienne Sauzet has a lanolin and beeswax-infused bouquet that gently unfolds in the glass, though it is not quite as detailed as its peers. The palate is well balanced with an expressive opening: walnut, dried orange peel and shaved ginger notes. There is fine depth here with a slightly tangy, marmalade-tinged finish, although it does not have the complexity of its peers. Drink over the next two or three years.
