The Poggerino 2014 Chianti Classico is an easy-drinking red wine with a fresh set of aromas that include wild cherry, grilled herb, moist earth and blanched almond. The wine offers a solid set of Sangiovese-based aromas, although it lacks the depth and intensity of other vintages. This Tuscan red would wash down with ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach. The mouthful is light and tart, although the oak element remains a little too evident.
