The impressive, dark ruby/purple-colored 1998 Santa Cecilia is produced from 85% Nero d'Avola and 15% Syrah, and is aged for 12 months in French oak prior to bottling. It offers abundant quantities of peppery, blackberry fruit intermixed with cassis. Supple, with low acidity, fine density, and a chewy constitution, it can be drunk over the next 5-7 years.
