I also enjoyed Durieu’s white Chateauneuf du Pape, a blend of 80% Roussanne, 15% Grenache blanc and 5% Clairette, aged in stainless steel for seven months prior to bottling. Its delicious melon and poached pear aromatics and flavors are complemented by good acidity, attractive body and impressive purity. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.
This estate has been making seriously good wine over the last five or six years, and has raised its performance level dramatically.
